■ Bio
Muharrem Aslan is a Sydney-based singer, composer, baglama virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist,
producer, and music therapist. Born in Türkiye, his music fuses traditional Turkish folk with
global influences, bridging cultures through emotionally rich storytelling in both Turkish and
English.
As an independent artist, Muharrem developed a unique baglama technique called Fourtemolo
and creates a timeless sound that blends world music, acoustic textures, and Anatolian soul.
His work explores themes of identity, migration, and belonging—drawing on his experience
across continents and as a music therapist to craft performances that are both deeply human
and universally resonant.
■ Works
Muharrem Aslan has released 16 albums, 175 songs, to date. His body of work spans solo
projects, collaborations, innovative productions, and storytelling albums that reflect both
tradition and creativity. Currently, he is preparing his next album with Alister Spence further
expanding his diverse and evolving musical journey.

Muharrem Aslan graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of New
South Wales, followed by a Master of Creative Music Therapy from Western Sydney
University.

Album: The Bridge of Eight Paths – Muharrem Aslan & Alister Spence
This project brings together bağlama and piano, Anatolia and jazz, tradition and improvisation,
in an intimate musical dialogue. We will record it in April, and it will be developed into an
album within two months or earlier.
